CICADAS WIN LIBERTY DIVISION IN DRAMATIC FINISH

Just how it should be. The Liberty Division came down to the final round of the final bout of the night. The Hammers' Sam Schuyler and Cicadas Demetrius Thomas went back and forth with a trip to Pittsburgh on the line. Both men were exhausted, but Thomas prevailed with the victory, giving the Cicadas a comeback 45-42 victory. The epic ending sends the undefeated Cicadas to Super Dual One in Pittsburgh on November 29. They will wrestle the winner of the Justice Division Championship which takes place on Wednesday November 12 between the Enforcers and Leopards.
The Hammers jumped out to a 13-0 lead with a decisive win by Kyle Burwick, but Tristan Moran cradled Brandon Wright in the first round at 145 pounds to secure the pin. The Cicadas continued to build their lead with wins by Zain Retherford and Peter Pappas. But Lennox Wolak and Nate Jackson recorded back-to-back wins at 184 and 199 to put the Hammers in front 42-37 going into the final bout. Thomas got taken down early but bounced back to get the lead. But a costly mistake in the third round tied up the score going into the final round. But Thomas dug deep and recorded two pushouts to earn a 10-7 victory.
